A RE-POST OF SORTS

This guy right here, folks.

He's the weirdest. And I mean that in the highest form of endearment you can possibly imagine. I think he might be weirder than me.

He may not be perfect, but he's mine. And I couldn't be happier.

Stephanie posted about what she's looking for in a guy and then Alana did the same thing. I wrote this post a while back, right after Jordan and I broke up. I went back and re-read it today and thought I'd share. It had been a while since I've read this and I kind of forgot what exactly I wrote, but I kept nodding my head checking off how many things on my list Nathan has. I must have done something right ;)

\\//

Valentine's Day is probably by far my least favorite holiday. When I've had a boyfriend on V-Day it was always "do we celebrate? do we ignore? we're too poor to go out..." and it was frustrating. And when I've been single, everyone loves to show off their wonderful relationships. A lot of my friends are married too and all I see on Facebook is "OH EM GEE HE BOUGHT ME FLOWERS! AND CHOCOLATE! AND HE'S THE BEST EVER!" And I just want to gouge my eyeballs out.

I know that God has someone out there for me who is perfectly planned to fit into my life seamlessly and that I am perfectly planned to fit seamlessly into someone else's life as well. And I'm fully aware that I am waiting for God's perfect timing. I will not be sorry that I waited for this wonderful man.

I wrote out all of the things that I want in a guy, because I spent all yesterday thinking about it.

I want someone who's not afraid to run wild with me. I want someone who will hug me when I'm mad, hold me when I'm sad and love me when I'm whiny. I want someone who is excited to wake up next to me every morning and kiss my face hello. I want someone who couldn't imagine ever being with anyone else ever. I want someone who gets my humor and laughs at my jokes. I want someone who encourages me to be myself, who instills confidence and boosts my self esteem. I want someone who thinks I'm beautiful in every way imaginable.

I want someone who is motivated, intelligent, funny, silly, godly, loving and caring. I want someone who will strive for what he wants in life. I want a leader, a bodyguard, a tough guy with a tender soul.

I want a guy who's not going to give up or get gone. I want someone faithful, honest, and sticks around. I want someone who will pick me over all the other girls. I want someone who I just know has to be a gift from God. I want someone adventurous and outdoorsy. I want someone who knows what he's doing or at least acts like it. I want someone who will take good care of me.

I want someone who isn't afraid to be seen with me in public. I want someone who will show me off to the world and brag about how awesome I am. And I want someone that I can say all those same things about too. I want someone who loves me more and more and more the longer he is with me. And I want him not to be afraid to show it.

And someday I'm going to have that. And it will be awesome. And the stuff dreams are made of. And it will be work. Love is a choice, a commitment, a way of life - not just a feeling. But I want it so bad. I want to be loved so bad that sometimes it hurts to watch everyone else be so happy.

But you know what? I am glad to be in the place that I am right now. At least I'm trying to be. I'm here for a reason, single for a reason. I think I have to get to a place where I am fully accepting of how life is right now and that will only come through praying and relying on God to make the best choices. Because when you try to take control, things just get messy. It's always better when you put your troubles in God's hands. He always knows exactly what to do.

11 Reasons Why Today Is Full Of Awesome

1. I successfully completed my last final. And received a B on it.

2. My Lovely Aunt sent me 47 different Christmas songs. That. I. Love.

3. I am going on a date tonight.

4. I cleaned my room.

5. While I was cleaning someone took my chair that I had placed in the hallway while said cleaning was taking place.

6. I asked the janitor who just happened to be in the hallway if he had seen or done anything dealing with said missing chair.

7. The janitor had no news or ideas as to the where being of my chair. He replied with a voice similar to Bing Crosby. I could have talked to him all day - he was that nice.

8. My friendly janitor vaccuumed my dirty rug that I had just finished sweeping because my little dirt devil is practically older than I am and doesn't pick up anything.

9. I knocked on Zach's door and he found my chair for me.

10. I ate an awesome toasted turkey sandwich.

11. I am leaving Moscow tomorrow morning until January. :)

Happy Holly Jolly Christmastime

Well interwebs, I have completed my very last final of the semester. Which I received an 87.5% on, so who's to complain? This is the first semester of my college career where it appears I am passing all my classes. It's amazing.

I seriously forgot how good it felt to achieve good grades in school.

It. is. amazing. I don't care what other people say. I love getting As and Bs. *ahem* I guess that's to be expected though, but last year I was too content to just get a C in everything that I let my motivation for positive work output on the back burner and let my inner procrastinator shine through like the sun.

Not this year.

This year I was still able to procrastinate (because it's in my nature) but I got everything done that needed to be and I passed everything that was important. Which was mostly everything I did.

And now, this semester is all over. Completely finished, honey I have nothing left to do except pack up all my stuff I'll need over break. And I'm really happy about that. I'm really happy about a lot of things in my life actually.

I'm really happy that school is over for the semester.
I'm really happy that my Drawing 1 teacher (TheProf) is going to continue as my Design Processes 2 instructor.
I'm really happy that the Christmas season is upon us (although that doesn't go without the 'holy crap where did 2009 disappear to? that cheeky son of a gun).
I'm really happy that I'm going to see my SoCal familia in about a week-ish.
I'm really happy my mommy's little sister who just happens to be one of my favorite aunts sent me a whopping two CDs chalked full of good and awesome amazing Christmas music.
I'm really happy that all of my dreams that past few nights have somehow involved my father and in each dream he was always really happy and smiley.
I'm really happy Prince and I have been together for just a little over a year.
I'm really happy with the amount of people who follow (and comment) on my little bitty blog.
I'm really happy that I'm just really happy.
I'm really happy that I get to go on a date tonight with Prince Charming and we're dressing up for it. He even said he'll let me have steak tonight! mmmmmmmmmm
And I'm really happy that tomorrow morning I'm going home to Hayden so I don't have to sleep in the dorms until January.

Oh happiness, how good it is to finally know you again. The end of the semester can be so stressful.

15. building snowmen, and snowwomen - hey i'm not biased! ha, ha.
16. watching The Santa Clause
17. seeing all the Christmas lights around town
18. decorating the house (and the tree even though I didn't get to do that at all this year. boohoo.)
19. listening to Michael Bubble while I drive while it's snowing at night
20. how the stores are always crowded

25. and last, but not least, just Christmas in general

What do you love about Christmas?

This post is my 250th. I wasn't going to say anything until I found it slightly ironic in a cool sort of way. Christmas is on the 25th, you know. And my list is 25 long. So you know, just add the zero. :)

Hello Frosty Mornings and Nippy Nights

Hello Autumn.

Hello dry skin and chapped lips.

Hello extra blankets, hot chocolates and cuddling in front of a fireplace.

Hello it's-morning-and-I-don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed.

Hello close toed shoes, layered shirts and jackets in the back of my closet I almost forgot about.

Hello school projects and new friends.

Hello Clam Chowder.

Hello golden leaved trees and bare branches.

Hello Dad and Keeper counting days until the lifts open in the mountains.

Hello Halloween and Thanksgiving and Family Get-Togethers.

Goodbye Summer.

Goodbye tanned skin, painted toenails, and tank tops paired with shorts.

Goodbye warm sandy beaches and lazy Saturdays swimming in the lake.

Goodbye summer camp.

Goodbye to the annoying monotonous sound of the fan because my room is too hot for sleep.

Goodbye green plants.

Goodbye long hours of daylight.

Goodbye thunderstorms, lightning and fireworks.

Goodbye flip-flops, sandals, and running through the grass in barefeet.

As much as I'm going to miss Summer, hello and welcome Fall.

Saturdays, Schmaturdays

I'm feeling slightly icky today. Which is really a shame because it's a saturday and I should be out galavanting around the community wreaking all sorts of teenage college student havoc. But instead I'm holed up in my dorm room by myself drawing the ceiling and facebooking. Oh yeah, and now I'm blogging.

But even though today has been a mostly relaxing day because I haven't done much of anything, it seems as though there are a bunch of things that are just rubbing me the wrong way. I suppose you could insert the terms "drives me up a wall" and "frosts me" so that when you ask where I am, the appropriate response would be "she's an icecycle hanging from the ceiling."

What exactly has annoyed me today, you ask? Oh you don't really want to know? Well I suppose I can tell you anyway. Since I'm feeling icky and it's my blog - so I guess you just have to put up with my slightly cynical demeanor today. I'd apologize, but I'm not really sorry. :)

Anywho, the list:
  • When the stereo three doors down from me plays their music so loud that all I can hear is the thumping base so I can't concentrate on drawing the ceiling.
  • When I'm doing laundry and people who were previously inside the laundry room forget about their clothes so that ALL the washers are taken along with ALL the dryers, so I'm forced to remove YOUR clothes before I can wash MY clothes because you are neglectful. I hope your clothes form a revolt against your forgetfulness.
  • When people say they are going to do something and then don't do it. Story of my life. It's sad because when people actually do something they said they were going to do, I'm surprised.
  • When Prince and I have a day of bad communication. Or really when I have poor communication with anyone. It just seems like a whole bunch of little tiffs that don't really mean anything, but when you've been having them all day they take a toll.
  • When teachers explain how to do a project, but they tell you how to do it wrong. Then you have to figure out how it really works.
  • Period cramps. 'Nuff said.
  • Headaches.
  • More than one type of noise at a time. I can't listen to two different songs at once. I can't have the TV and music going at the same time and I can't listen to my headphones to fight for freedom from the oppression of multiple sounds. Hence the reason I have my own room.

Things I Appreciate:

  • Blackberry White Chocolate Mochas - iced.
  • Soft music.
  • Sleeping in late and waking up rested.
  • Silence. VERY appreciated when I have a headache. VERY.
  • Watching movies with people. Any sort of people that I like or that like me. People make movies funny.
  • When Prince's suite mate puts on 'mood music' and dances around like a total retard. He totally makes my day when he does that.
  • Going to the gym and running a few miles. Though I don't know if I'll do that today - even though it might help me feel better.
  • Compliments. I like those because they reassure me that I really don't suck as bad as I think I do. Ha, ha. Maybe that makes me sound conceited? Don't know. But I like affirmations and quality time and physical touch.
  • Hugs and kisses when I need them most - and also ones when I'm not expecting them.
  • When people play with my hair. I can't begin to describe how many points that will give someone. Somewhere in the ballpark of a bajillion and eighty three. I'm dead serious.
  • Blogging. And when I find I have new followers! Or new comments. I love those. I always enjoy the ones from Kendra because she seems to comment on practically all of my posts. I feel bad because I hardly leave her comments - but part of it is the fact that I really just don't know what to say. I'm not that great at making friends.

And also some of you may have noticed the new blog title and background. Thoughts? I rather like it, honestly.

Just Because

Things That Make My Day: Picture Version

In no particular order:

1. when people do OUTRAGEOUSLY awesome things in the name of school spirit. (yes our school colors are gold and black :] )
2. hear shaped flowers (makes me think of lion king II)

3. friendships that have lasted so long that even when they seem to fall apart, you are still together. (we've been through a lot of tough times since we all met in middle school!) L to R: Cinderella, Ariel, Belle

4. Acting our shoe size instead of our age.

5. grafiti that i didn't create that fits my life beyond all reason. especially when i find it right when i need it most.

6. holding hands. this picture is of Prince and me, but I'll hold hands with anyone really. I like holding my dad's hand too. I really like to feel all the creases and wrinkles in a person's hand. ones that time has put there, and ones that have been placed there by God.

7. making dorky faces for the camera. yeah...i do that a lot. :)

8. napping. yum.

9. Kisses. I love those. They always make me feel better.

10. Irony. the good and simple put-a-smile-on-your-face kind of irony.

It's Been One Of Those Days

Where I feel like I don't want to do anything and I have a ton to do.

Where I think I look gorgeous and wish Prince Charming was here to fully appreciate my hot good looks. HAHA.

Where writing a 6-10 page research paper does not even sound remotely enticing even though it's on Germany which is one of my favorite subjects.

Where I feel lonely.

Where I just want to eat, but know if I do I'll regret it later.

Where I really wish the sun was shining to give me an excuse to go outside and lay on the lawn.

Where doing a math pretest is a nightmare and I hope to never have to do algebra 2 again ever.

Where summer looks pretty darn apetizing right now and I would give my left boob to be on a beach in the sunshine in a swim suit.

Where I realize I need to keep up on my hygiene better.

Where no amount of music can make me focus on the tasks at hand.

Where I want to blog about something epically important to society, but instead you all end up with this.

Where I am THRILLED to have 12 followers! Thanks be to you ALL because you ROCK!

Where now I have to be done with this post and actually force myself to do what needs to be done. There are three weeks left! I just have to pull it together and hold it there for a little longer! I can do it! I can do it! I can do it! *huff*

100

This post is my 100th post. (yay! celebration!) And through my cyber-wanderings and blog hoppings I've discovered that for the 100th post people do things like 100 things about me, or they just make it a really special post.

To be honest, I don't think I can come up with 100 things about me, and I don't know what to write about to make it a really special post. In fact, when I logged in this morning it was going to be my Fix It Friday post, but then I thought maybe I should do something at least a tad bit more interesting? Not that fixing photos isn't interesting - because I do enjoy that immensly. But it seems like since the first fix it friday I just don't produce the kinds of edits that are interesting. Or I could just be holding myself to too high of standards and just thinking that I'm off base a little. But who knows and I don't feel like delving too deep into that right now.

So maybe I should stick with the 100 things about me? That should be a challenge. Well, I'll tell you what? I'll start it, and if I run out of things then I'll just stop and leave you hanging. :-)

*ahem* Here goes:

1. I am the oldest of four kids.
2. I LOVE sports. Was a gymnast, then a track star, but now I just hit the gym.
3. I miss doing sports. something awful.
4. I hate school. Everyone asks me how college is, and I tell them I like it. But I just like being out of the house. I'm getting tired of classes. I've been at this 13 + years. I graduated from high school and now you people say you want four more? You're CRAZY! But here I am....
5. I didn't know how to do laundry until I moved out of the house.
6. I only have four cousins, three of which I almost never see.
7. I don't believe in sex before marriage. That's one thing I want to be able to give my husband whenever I decide to get married. It means a lot to be able to give the guy you're going to spend the rest of your life with your whole heart.
8. Writing is one of my biggest passions. My oma tells me that I have a gift, even though I think I just write like I talk, but I suppose maybe there is something there...
9. Ever since I got back from break for 2nd Semester, my computer won't hold a wireless internet connection. I have to have it plugged into the ethernet cable all the time.
10. I love being a barista. Plain and simple.
11. I really, really, really, really wish that I didn't just have a simple point and shoot nikon coolpix camera. I really, really, really, really wish that I had a camera like my dads because I like the way his camera captures eyes.
12. Eyes, in my opinion, are the coolest physical feature we have. Everyone's eyes are unique to their face.
13. I'm studying nutrition because I want to help stop obesity in children and teens. 19% of children are obese and 17% of teens are obese. The number of obese adults is way higher than that, but if we can stop it in the kids, then the number will decrease in adults because kids are the future of the world.
14. I'm learning things about myself I didn't know by starting this blog.
15. I only started the blog because my aunt had one and I thought it looked fun. Now I'm totally addicted.
16. I think facebook is more fun than myspace - but I keep both because I have different friends on both.
17. I am enjoying going through the book of James again even though I feel like I'm a little behind because I got a late start and then took a week of for SD.
18. I was actually born in La Mesa, CA, but I moved when I was 2 and don't remember living there. However, when I was in SD visiting with my cousin, she will not let me forget that I'm a native Californian.
19. I want to live in Wyoming more than anything.
20. I took four years of German in high school and then spent 2 weeks backpacking around Southern Germany with my class. I'd give almost anything to go back.
21. Family is important to me and I love going to family get-togethers.
22. Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday because that's when my California family would come up to visit.
23. When I was three I took off down my driveway on my bike. My mom asked me where I was going. I told her that I was going to school.
24. I LOVED elementary school. I liked middle school and 8th grade was my favorite year. But I loathed high school.
25. I love driving. LOVE IT!
26. Stick It! is my favorite movie.
27. My brother and I can have an entire conversation in movie quotes. We have an inate ability to see a movie once and be able to quote almost the entire thing.
28. I'm not picky about my music. I like almost anything and everything and if I don't like it, I'll tell you to change the song.
29. Really the only type of music I can't stand is Screamo. I'm sorry, but that just plain gives me a headache.
30. When I was little I would fill journals with the names and breeds of all the horses, dogs, cows, chickens, etc. that I was going to have on my ranch when I grew up. I would go around in the back yard and feed all these 'invisible' animals for hours.
31. I used to pretend I was Fern from Charlotte's Web. I'd come into the kitchen with an easter egg basket, or an imaginary one, and set it down on the counter and tell my mom I'd brought her the chicken eggs. And then I'd ask 'Where's Papa goin' with that axe?' Yeah, I was a cute kid.
33. When my brother was little he wouldn't talk. All he would say was "unt" and I would know exactly what he wanted.
34. I like to dance, but really all I've ever learned was ballet when I was a gymnast because there is a lot of ballet wrapped inside that sport.
35. I pole vaulted in high school and it was what I looked forward to every year. I think that's really what kept me going - that and German.
36. My sister and I are 7 years apart, but as she gets older, she gets more interesting. Ha, ha.
37. I have soft tissue damage in both of my ankles from gymnastics, but the left one is worse and if I want to do anything slightly athletic I have to tape it for support.
38. The only friend my age that I'm close with who has the same values and beliefs that I do is Prince Charming. Otherwise I'm surrounded by typical college students and am immersed in a world where sex, drinking, smoking and cussing every five seconds is okay. Dad says just to not let these people start making my decisions for me. I told him not to worry.
39. I like to make people laugh. I like going home to see my mom because she laughs at my jokes all the time and tells me that she misses me. I recall several occasions where I've made her laugh so hard she had to put down what she was doing so she wouldn't hurt herself.
40. I think my mom is the smartest woman I know.
41. My dad is turning 50 this year, but he says it's the last year he's celebrating his birthday. As if he would just stop aging... :-)
42. I was born into a Christian home and pretty much all my relatives that I know are saved.
43. I hated taking science courses in high school because our teachers preached Evolution as fact. They're supposed to only teach it as theory, but it has yet to be proven. Darwin even denounced his theory before his death.
44. I like cooking and helping out in the kitchen, but I hate cleaning and doing the dishes.
45. I like riddles. I'm not very good at figuring them out, but I take great interest in them.
46. I'm a horrible speller. Well, okay I can spell most things okay, but I have to look up how to spell words more often than I'd like to admit.
47. When people always types 'then' when they mean 'than' and this bugs me a little bit. There is a difference. Then this happened. I'd rather do that than this. You even type it with the same hand! How hard can it be people!
48. Spelling may not be a strong point, but last semester my English professor told me that I could have taught the grammar part of that course. Thank you Ms. Carlson for doing such a great job when I was in high school. :-) (note: this does not make me an expert. it just means i know more than most incoming college freshman. which is scary, to say the least)
49. Is it just me, or do high school freshmen get shorter and scrawnier each year? I'm pretty short, but those freshmen! It's just ridiculous.
50. I sprinted my freshmen year of HS and I kind of regret giving it up. I ran a 13.3 and I could've gotten faster if I'd just stuck with it.

Half way there people! Should I stop or go on? Well, I might as well go one. Considering you really don't HAVE to read all this anyway. It's really just floating around in cyberspace and you can come back to it at any time. :-)

51. Apparently there are plenty of people out there who don't think they could find Russia on a map. This greatly saddens me. I'll give you a hint people, it's above China, right of Europe, left of Alaska, and it's pretty much the biggest country on the map. If you still can't find it, go play in traffic and let natural selection run its course. I'm kidding! Don't do that. But seriously. Learn your geography for crying out loud.
52. I think I'm pretty average as far as looks and talents. However, I have been told that this is untrue and thus have no idea what to believe.
53. The sooner I graduate from college the better. I want to get out of school, start a life, have a job, get married, make babies. And somewhere in there I want to do an insane amount of traveling the world. Seriously. Can school just be over?
54. I have more friends that are male than female. Thank God that Prince Charming isn't overly jealous. We might be subject to issues if this were the case.
55. Dorm rooms are too small for four girls or four boys. They are the size of prison cells! But a good size for just one girl or two. possibly three if you had to.
56. Whenever I travel somewhere, I always bring my dad back a hat. I bought him one in SD and he was the only person besides myself I bought something for. He smiled and said "I'm still the number one man." And it's true. Sorry Prince, but Daddy loved me first.
57. The boys in my hall like to pick me up, throw me over their shoulder and run. They also think its funny while I'm in said position to open doors with my feet.
58. I like drawing portraits. But my faces always look scrunched because I haven't learned how to space things correctly.
59. Belle and I used to have music wars. I would be on my bed listening to my music, she'd come home from class and start to play her music. I wanted to ask her if she'd ever heard of headphones, because it seemed like I was always the one who had to put them in. I'm thinking, HELLO??? GIVE AND TAKE? But then I'd just suck it up and be annoyed and grab my headphones and feel selfish. When she broke her laptop, I wasn't sorry. Not one little bit. Nor did I miss the stupid thing. I'd rather share my computer with her than have to battle her crazy music.
60. I've just realized there have been several rants so far.
61. I will argue with you for arguments sake. Sir Justice knows this first hand. I am not a lie. The cake is a lie. I can't go from being cake to being pie.
62. I think my mom's apple pie is the best apple pie there ever was, is or is to come.
63. The ONLY thing I miss about high school is track. And of course my friends who are still stuck in that institution which should rightfully be renamed Hell.
64. I ROCK because Guitar Hero told me so. My brother and I like to GH3 it up when I'm home for weekends.
65. Adobe Photoshop 4.0 is the best thing since sliced bread. I don't really post pictures without running them through that program first.
66. I like to take surprise pictures. This consists of me taking my phone's camera, my nikon, or my dad's pentax and snapping a picture of an unsuspecting victim *ahem* person.
67. I get some sick perverse pleasure out of annoying people. I learned that one from my dad.
68. My relatives have all told me they think I was one of the prettiest babies ever. And looking at pictures, I'm inclined to agree. Ha, ha, ha.
69. I have at least 8 pillows on my bed.
70. I used to read all the time. I'd be able to finish a large book in a matter of days. However, I don't seem to have the time for that anymore. Such a shame!
71. I would have LOVED to meet my dad's dad when he was my age. I hear he was quite the rebel and I think that's AWESOME. Ha, ha. My grandma has said that if she'd have met him when he was that age, she probably wouldn't have married him.
72. I've heard that you shouldn't think that your wedding day was the day when you loved your spouse the most. That should just be a starting point and you should love them more everday. I want a love like this.
73. I think too many couples rush into marriage now and then when things they get they rush out of marriage. The divorce rate in this country makes me want to cry. I'm not saying there aren't valid reasons for divorce, but 'irreconcirable differences' just seems like a cop out to me.
74. I think kids are too spoiled these days. They have cell phones and iPods and video games. Does anyone play outside anymore?
75. I also think that spanking is perfectly okay. Bruising your child might not be okay, but a swat on the behind is perfectly acceptable to let them know that they have done something wrong and that there is a consequence for their actions. Simply telling the child that the behavior is unacceptable and then sitting down to read them a book is sending them mixed messages. You aren't supposed to reward bad behavior with positive attention. Then the child will just act out to get attention. If I ruled the world I would burn every parenting book ever written. Ever.
76. My mom has gotten complimented on how awesome her kids are. Because we have DISCIPLINE!
77. Why is it easier to be nice to strangers than to your family members?
78. When given a task, generally I have to repeat it back to you to make sure that I have it right. I always second guess myself and sometimes I'm unsure of what you want me to do. I think it goes along with me not being able to hear all that great and when I'm listening to you, sometimes words run together or I miss a word. Selective hearing perhaps?
79. The 'p' button on my keyboard is giving me trouble. We are in a fight and it refuses to be agreeable and just be easy to push.
80. I'm not as flexible as I used to be. And this saddens me a little bit. Ha, ha.
81. I go through phases where I won't eat anything and then phases where I feel like I eat a lot. This coming from the nutrition major...
82. I doodle when I take notes because it helps me focus. Actually it's just because I'm bored, but I blame it on the being able to focus because then it's a valid reason. Kidding! Kinda...
83. I LOVE sunny days. It doesn't really even have to be that warm, but when the sun is shining it's just nice. It raises my spirits.
84. I also love a good thunder storm. Sitting and listening to the rain pouring down outside, the loud crash of the thunder overhead so that it makes you think the roof is going to fall, and the bright lightning to make you think for a moment that it was actually daylight outside only to be plunged back into darkness.
85. I like when the power goes out at night and you have to light rooms with candles. I feel like Laura Ingalls Wilder and I LOVE it!
86. I get upset at stupid things. Like when Prince Charming and I are talking on IM and then all of a sudden he says that he's going to leave. I feel indignant, I suppose that is the right word? I don't know. I like knowing that hey, in 15 minutes he has somewhere else to be. Not BOOM! I'm gone. He hates when I do that to him also. And when I get blamed for not doing something as much as someone else. Like when I lived with Belle and she claimed that she always did the dishes. But that's so completely untrue that it's not even funny. We both did the dishes. She just remembers all the times she does the dishes and forgets about when I do them and thus complains that I never helped out. Which is one of the big reasons I moved.
87. I have communication issues. I would rather put up with someone's inconsiderate behavior than tell them to knock it off. This is one of the biggest Belle/Cinderella issues of all. I also have an insane fear of calling people. I hate using the telephone, although admittedly in my old age I am having to use it more. So perhaps I have adjusted slightly, but it's not my favorite thing. I would much rather email you or see you face to face than call you on the telephone.
88. When my family goes tubing on the lake, it's a huge game to see who can get thrown off the tube fastest. This is not the goal of the competition. You are supposed to stay on the longest, but among the passengers in the boat and my dad's boat driving skills, he TRIES to throw us off the tube. It's hilarious and awesome. And it makes my summers completely worth while.
89. I think showering is a huge inconvenience. It's necessary so that you don't stink up every room you walk into, but it's time out of my day that I feel like I could use doing more productive things. Like sleeping....
90. The number 16 is my favorite number. Going through school that was the number my teachers had assigned to my name for at least three years in a row.
91. I hate being poked or licked.
92. If I ever end up having kids, I want all boys. And I want to name the first one Gabriel.
93. Dogs are my favorite pets. Golden retrievers and Great Danes are where it's at! You can keep your little yappy dogs (they need SOMEone to love them), but I like the big ones. And I have always thought that Garbanzo is a fitting name for a dog. Then I can nickname it Bonzo. :-)
94. When my youngest brother and sister were little I would have to baby sit them. They are pretty close, but sometimes they would fight like all good siblings do. To remedy their bad moods, I would put them on chairs so they had to look at each other and then I would have them make silly faces at one another. This worked great.
95. I miss having a fireplace.
96. I hate it when you're hanging out with a friend and they're on the their phone the entire time. Or when you're having an important conversation with someone and their cell phone rings so without missing a beat they just answer it and you're left hanging in the balance.
97. I like driving barefoot. Late at night. In the summer. With the windows rolled down and music blaring.
98. I dance in my dorm room in my underwear to loud music. I make sure the door is locked first and the window curtains are shut - tight. Ha, ha.
99. I enjoy teasing people to no end.
100. I hear from a lot of people that they think this is the end times and that the rapture will come in the next few years. But I've also heard my mother say that ever since Jesus went back up to heaven after he was cruicified that the disciples thought that it was the end times. No one really knows when Jesus is coming back, but I intend to live my life to the fullest.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is 100 things about me. :-)

Just Some Thoughts At The End Of The Day

Being in college has opened up a new part of me that I didn't really know even existed. But I suppose that everyone goes through experiences in life that shape them as a human being. My life goes through bouts of drama along with lulls of okay-ness. But to me, it's really never dull. I mean sometimes I can be boring, so occasionally I'll feel as though I have nothing to write about really, but in reality - there's always something I can say. I think maybe part of that is the invisible writer that I have living deep in my soul.

My life is far less complicated than other people's lives, and sometimes I have to admit I feel inadequate to have my own blog. But this place is like a haven for my poor 'tortured' mind. I just write what goes on, I just write what I feel and I try to make it as interesting as possible. Like this thing I'm going through with Belle right now. Interesting? Possibly. Entertaining? Mildly. Real? Always. Biased? Well, it is really only my side of the story, so I suppose that you don't have all the facts. On the flip side however, I'm trying very hard NOT to put all the blame on Belle, because it's not all her fault. We've been thrown into this situation and we could BOTH be a lot more mature about how it's being handled - but we are only 18 and so being mature right is kind of a struggle. Especially when we both are stubborn. I could list all of the faults that I find in her, but what good does that really do? Other than it gets it out of my head. But who wants to read that?? Really. Be honest. You don't care about all the negative that I have to say about her.

So here are some positive things that I like about my roommate:
- She has a sense of humor that I really appreciate. If she's not being perverted about something, she actually can be quite humorous and entertaining.
- She's always had my back up til now. We used to lean on each other all the time, but now it's just different.
- She cleans the hair out of my brush for me and out of the vaccuum cleaner, because if I try to do that, I'll gag. Pathetic, I know. You can laugh, it's okay.
- She drives me places.
- She has her own opinions and isn't scared to defend them.
- She's a great photographer.
- She's never at a loss for words.
- Music is her talent, and boy is she skilled.
- Her sewing skills are off the charts. I love the purple pillow that she made for me.
- She really does care somewhere deep down inside herself about me.

*deep breath*

Life may not always be peachy keen and rainbows and butterflies, but there's ALWAYS something positive. Some days you just have to search harder, dig deeper and look longer to find it and some days it's right there wham bam in your face exciting. Some may ask if the glass is half full and some may ask if the glass is half empty - but me? I just wonder who the heck is drinking my lemonade.

College has also opened up other parts of my life. Like late night grocery store runs. Or I suppose, in my case it would be early morning. I've mentioned before about us girls hitting up WinCo at 1 in the morning, but today I went to the store at 4 in the morning. I couldn't believe I'd done it either - but somehow I'd got roped into going and before I could protest I was in jeans, shoes and a thick jacket outside headed to WinCo. And it was fun! Sure, it probably wasn't the smartest move we could have made because at 4 in the morning people should be asleep, but really! It was an adventure. I love adventures! Everything is an adventure!

I'm not going to stay up near as late tonight though. I needs my beauty sleep so I can keep on looking half way presentable to the rest of the world. And I am currently hooked on the movie PS I Love You. The songs on my player? All from the soundtrack. If someone wanted to buy it for me I wouldn't protest... Ha ha ha. No, don't do it, it's unnecessary. :-)

My Sweet Song, It's Been A Long Time

- holding my own while we're tubing on the lake
- having an interesting conversation
- being silly
- quoting movies, songs, bumper stickers, and icons

- dancing with no music
- silence
- the feeling after I come home from the gym after a hard work out

Letters of Boredom On A Friday Night

Dear Monday,

Hurry up and get here and bring my boyfriend with you. I miss him terribly. And also I want to watch the new Jon and Kate Plus 8 episode.

Sincerely,

The Lonely Damsel In Distress

***

Dear Prince Charming,

I hope Hawaii is kind and good and all you were hoping it to be. Because I'm fairly certain you've fallen in love with the state and forgot about me! Never again are we going a week without talking to each other. Too many times I've wanted to talk with you and I can't!

Love With All My Heart,
Cinderella

***

Dear MTV,

Stop with all the reality TV shows about finding 'true love.' They never work and they are boring and repetitive. Find something else to exploit.

Yours,
A Fed Up College Girl With Nothing But Time On Her Hands

***

Dear Dad,

Thanks for all your advice and care and love these past couple days. And thanks for dinner on Thursday. Ravioli never tasted so good. Ha, ha. Well, okay actually I've had better ravioli, but the company was excellent. I hope my brother enjoys the tele before I have to take it back from him next August.

Love,
The Best Daughter Ever

***

Dear Spring,

I am tired of winter. Hurry up.

xoxo

It Feels Like Friday

1. It's not all about you.

2. Missing someone doesn't give you the right to be mean to them.

3. Sometimes your best friends shut you out because they care too much about you to let you be disappointed in them.

4. Dogs will always love you, no matter what.

5. Things happen for a reason. No exceptions.

6. Jesus LOVES me, even when I don't exactly love myself.

7. No matter how bad your situation, people will always care about you enough to help. Sometimes these people don't even know you.

8. Keeping everything bottled up inside you is worse than just telling people and getting it over with.

9. When a guy asks you for you number after seeing you in a bikini, he does not want to get to know you better - he just wants to get you in bed.

10. Live in the now because tomorrow never comes and yesterday is history.

11. Allow yourself to be creative.

12. Spend some time alone everyday. We all get sick of the people we live with, it's a fact.

13. Reality TV is what you watch when you're bored and no movies sound interesting.

14. Take pictures. Of everything.

15. Don't follow the crowd. Allow yourself to make your own decisions because the best paved road can often lead to the worst town.

This is my thinking face. K asked me what I was doing on her side of the room. I told her we don't have sides. :-)

A picture taken over winter break. Beautiful glass bottles. Beautiful.

16. Appreciate the beauty in the simple things in life.

17. Sleep with TONS of pillows.

18. Do at least one nice thing for someone a day.

19. Eat dessert.

20. Sing your heart out, even if you suck. :-)

21. Learn something new.

22. Stretch your achy muscles.

23. Do something you're horrible at.

24. Write with your non-dominant hand.

25. Find something to laugh and smile about everyday. It gets rid of the stress in your life.

Extended Shock of Day Two

In my CORE class this morning we did an activity more focused on ourselves. The real name of this class is "The Movies, The World, and You." So today we were doing an excerise to focus on "you." Each person in the class had to answer some questions that reveal a bit about their personality. The questions were simple enough, but they did make you think. People's answers were indeed very similiar and very interesting.

First we had to introduce ourselves, even though we've had the class for a whole semester. There were a few new people so in order to accomodate them every said his or her name before answering the questions. These questions were developed by a French talk show host. I don't remember his name, but he would use these questions when he interviewed people on his show.

I'm N. *waves*
What is your favorite word? Ridiculous.
What is your least favorite word? Mundane.
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Authenticity.
What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally? when people are really fake.
What is your favorite curse word? Frikk. :-)
What sounds or noises do you enjoy listening to? Thunder storms and rain pounding on my window.
What sounds or noises do you not enjoy listening to? dogs barking in the middle of the night
What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt? Teacher
What profession would you not like to attempt? Stripper. Ha, ha.
If there is a heaven, what would you like to hear God say to you when you reached the pearly gates? Welcome my child, I'm glad you made it.
You should answer those questions too, or at least think about them. Post them in a comment if you should feel so ambitious. :-)

And now your pictures for the day:

This was my breakfast! Woo hoo!

The ground outside :-)
