Oh but wait, that spring will come when I leave tomorrow on my trip to Arizona people! Arizona! Do you know what that means??
It means 80 DEGREE WEATHER!
I could not be more excited if I tried. Really.
I have been on spring break this week, and so far I have been having a total and complete blast. Saturday I spent on the snow covered slopes of Schweitzer mountain with my dad, The Keeper and The Mechanic. We tortured each other's souls and skied our hearts out.
I converted to skiing last year, after having been a dedicated boarder in the years prior. I hated to give it up, but because of my ankle, boarding was literally just too painful for me to continue with. Because I was a gymnast, I did a lot of tumbling and flying through the air. All that constant pounding on my joints took its toll, and now my ankle bones in my joint are very loose, which means that I don't have very much control of that joint and a lot of pressure aggravates it.
Snow boarding boots also don't offer a lot of ankle support, so I had to wrap my ankle with athletic tape and pop pain killers like a crack addict. All, really, to no avail. Dad got the bright idea that skiing might be easier for me because the boots offer more support, and well, since then I have been in ski boot bliss. I don't have to tape my ankle anymore, and my pain killer ration has gone way down.
And, as an added bonus, I no longer want to cry and stab myself in the foot anymore, so, well, crisis averted.
Plus, being able to enjoy a beautiful day like it was on Saturday is worth making the shift from boarding to skiing. I had a whole afternoon of snow ball fights, down hill races (which I always lose without fail) and boys. It was an adventure, and really, who doesn't love adventures?
Then yesterday and today I went...dress shopping! Can you just believe it? I am not a dress wearer, really. Dresses don't let you do cartwheels or sit criss cross applesauce on the floor or climb trees or ride bikes and really, it just wasn't my style.
But now that I'm getting older, I'm finding that dresses really might not be so bad after all. I have yet to really start incorporating this fashion statement in with my every day wear, but I'm not afraid to go look for some cute ones anymore. And also, having lost near 15 pounds really doesn't hurt one's ego when out in the grand department stores.
Beautiful right? And I look pretty good too, huh? Haha! But really, I spotted this dress from across the room and walked right up to it and picked out my size. I had a feeling it was probably going to be the dress I bought, but then I had to grab other dresses just for funzies. Because, hello people, what fun is dress shopping if you only try on one?
And holy wow, I just looked at that picture of me, and my calves! Behold their beefiness! I just can't believe it!
Amazing.
The DP got a dress the day before, kind of a shocker that our dresses are the same cut but different fabrics. I kind of like it that way though. Because we're going to be the cutest kids on the block, next to Grandma. And Grandma's only cuter because it's her party - you know how that is. She's adorable anyway, so we really have some stiff competition as it is - I mean, where do you think we got our good looks from anyway?

It's Complicated
So here I am. Just me. Just at school. Prince Charming and I may or may not be in a romantic relationship, but who's to judge? Other people have taken breaks and got back together, right? So it can happen to me too right?
Please say I'm right.
I don't want to be wrong.
I can't be wrong.
Not now.
We still talk. We're still friends. There is still a chance. I'm just tired of the ups and the downs and the not knowing what's going to happen next. I did that all summer and when I came to school I thought that was all behind me. I guess it's not.
I'm waiting. Patiently. Biding my time.
It's just annoying to see other couples walk care free on campus and look so happy, and be so in love and here I am, in this mess of a relationship, that I want to fix but can't do it by myself.
You know what I love?
Cuddling.
Yeah, I love that. I love being wrapped up in his arms. I also love holding hands. And walking next to him, holding his hand, looking at things and talking to people.
There is so much that I miss. I miss being able to see him whenever I wanted and not feel like I was intruding. I miss watching movies nestled against his slightly hairy chest (which I love). I miss lots of things, that for now, are gone.
I keep wondering if I should just give up. But I don't want to. I keep wondering if finding someone else would be a better option. But then I can't think of anyone that I would rather be with.
I keep thinking about how great Prince Charming fits in with my family, and how much they all love him, and I know that's something he's scared of losing. He likes my family. Sometimes he feels like we treat him better than his own family does.
And that may or may not be true. I know his family loves him, they just don't show love and affection the same way that my family does. They aren't a close knit family, and my family is. I call my mommy just to hear her voice sometimes, and he only calls his mother when absolutely necessary.
How can two people that are so wrapped up in each other's lives "take a break"? I can't go from being in a romantic relationship to being just friends in the blink of an eye. I need some time to recover. I need some time to think about whether or not I actually do want to be just friends. It's difficult right away, because there is this daily reminder of something I want so bad it hurts and can't have at the moment.
How do you deal with that? I mean, good gravy!
This "break" we are taking, this "time off", this "need of space" is not my idea, I'll have you know. I don't think we need it. I think I am fine. I think he is fine. I think we could be fine, but he over thinks things. He puts too much pressure on himself.
And this is what I think about daily.
He's worried about "how do you know you'll marry me?" when he shouldn't be worried about marriage at all. I think going to his brother's wedding scared him a little even if he won't admit it. I think it got him thinking about the future and about being happy and I think he started putting unnecessary pressure on our relationship.
But the good thing is, we are talking. We are communicating. We are emailing. We are working towards becoming 'together' again. Whether or not it happens remains to be seen. But as far as I'm concerned, I'm not single. I'm just in a very complicated relationship with someone who needs to clear his mind and get his stuff together so he can go back to being my wonderful boyfriend who loves me very much.
And I feel like school doesn't help the situation at all. I wish it was still summer vacation. But only the kind of summer vacation where I didn't have work everyday.
Please say I'm right.
I don't want to be wrong.

I Was A Little Girl Once, I Promise
My friend Em had a closet full of 'dress-up' clothes. It consisted of some hand-me-downs that were too big and too out of style, a couple of old prom dresses, some old Halloween costumes, a few wigs and shoes that were either two sizes too small or two sizes too big.
Hours we would spend trying on one garment after another trying to find the perfect look for whatever character we had decided to be that day. Sometimes we were princesses. Sometimes we were fairies. Sometimes we were poor little homeless girls.
It just depended on our mood.
And always, always, always we had to do each other's hair. Em had a million and ten little clippy things that one uses to hold strands of hair in place. They were all different colors and different shapes and sizes. We would grab pony tail holders and banana clips. We would use bobby pins and scrunchies.
It took us a long time to get the hair to match the outfit and sometimes we would have to redo the hair a few times in order look 'just right.'
(See Prince-y? I can totally be a girl.)
But what's really anticlimactic is that we would spend all. that. time. getting. ready. and then we wouldn't even play pretend! Dress up, do your hair and make-up, admire yourself in the mirror, rinse, and repeat.
Which reminds me of a dumb joke that I learned from Em. I'll type the questions and then you have to answer them. Don't worry, it's not a test or anything. I'm sure you'll do fine.
Pete and Re-Pete are sitting in a boat. Pete fell out, who's left?

It's That One Day Again
Today is Valentine's Day. Some people love this holiday. Some people hate it. Some people don't even call it Valentine's Day - they just refer to it as S.A.D. (Singles Awareness Day).
The argument against Valentine's Day is that why do you just dedicate this one day to loving that significant other? Shouldn't you just love them all the time, everyday? Well, yes, yes you should.
The argument for Valentine's Day is that we are celebrating a priest named Valentine who secretly married couples when marriage was forbidden. But most people don't know that. They just think of Valentine's Day as the one day out of the year when it's perfectly acceptable to be mushy gushy love-y dove-y and have no one judge them.
Personally, I'm not a Valentine's Day fan. But this year Prince Charming and I exchanged small gifts. I got him a card and slippers because he's been complaining about not having any. And he loves them. He got me a hat to match my jacket and a Lights CD because I've been wanting it.
I got swept up in the spirit and Zelda and I painted our fingernails and toenails red and white with hearts on them. I didn't get a picture of her nails, but here's what mine look like and her's are just the inverse.
Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Anti-Social Introvert Masquerading as a Sanguine
I have you fooled, but don't be angry because I've fooled a lot of people.
I am in fact completely anti-social.
I'm totally okay with sitting in my dorm room by myself. It gets a little lonely sometimes, so then I venture out into the hallway to see what sort of mischief I can get myself into. Most of the time I just leave my door open and then whoever feels like bothering me at the time is more than welcome to invited themselves into my room to hassle me.
Exceptions to the rule of my introversion are when I'm with Belle galavanting around town and stealing candy from babies and when I'm around people that I've known for a long time. I like being surrounded by the people that I have relationships with, but I'm not that great at just making up conversation or walking over to someone and befriending them. All of my friends have befriended me, not vice versa.
Something that I didn't really expect out of Prince Charming was his extrovertedness. He doesn't strike me as an extrovert because he can be really shy and quiet depending on the situation. But then we started going to same college. And we live in the same building - the same hall even. So we eat together down at Bob's.
Prince-y is all into the whole let's-sit-with-someone-who's-alone-and-talk-to-them-the-whole-time deal. AHHHH. No thank you. I will gladly just sit here by myself with you and not talk to anyone.
Last year I only asked someone if I could sit at their table once because all of the other tables were taken. And then when I sat down next to her, we didn't talk - we just ate. I'm SO bad at creating conversation with people I don't know.
Maybe that's why I hate talking on the phone with people.
I don't know what to say to them.
Even if I have a reason for calling - a question or something - I don't know how to word it. I'm always afraid I'll sound completely retarded and that they'll resent me for heckling them with my pitiful phone call. *heavy sigh*
So yes, while I'm around people that I know and love I enjoy conversating and being surrounded by that homey comfy loved feeling, but stick me in a room full of people I don't know and I'll pull into my own anti-social shell and glue myself to corner where I don't have to interact.
Another thing that apparently surprised Princey is my lack of like for the female gender. I'm way better friends with guys than with girls.
Girls are mean.
And chalk full of drama.
And I have better things to do with my time than play up your poor life's dramatic events like your nail breaking or some girl that you hate has the same handbag as you do. Barf.
This isn't to say that I am lacking in the girl friendship department, because I do in fact have friends that are female. But more often than not I fit in with the guys. I went to the fair Friday night, yes? I hung out with boys. When I was on track? Yep, only girl varsity pole vaulter. My dorm friends from last year? All boys. When I hang out with friends in Hayden? They're Prince's friends, and they're boys.
I did make one friend here this year who is a girl though! So it's not to say that it's impossible. Ha, ha.
But I guess those are just things that people don't know about me right off the get go. I'm anti-social and not a fan of girls.
In the words of DP:
"Cinderella, you're a weirdo."

It's Been A While
Hello Bloggers!!!!
I have missed you all. And I'm glad to be writing because I've been missing it sorely. I'm home for a couple days from camp - and the reason for that isn't so great, but the time I've been away at camp has been better than I ever hoped it would be.
Working with kids is awesome.
There are some that are teacher's pets, there are some that are tattle tails, there are some that are so sweet you don't want to ever let them go and there are some that you could do without, but you love them all. The little boys I work with are so adorably awesome that I just want to keep them with me all the time.
And I'm making great friends with the staff at Twinlow. I swear I'm starting to become better friends with the girls that I live with than I could ever have been with Belle or Ariel or Sleeping Beauty or Zelda. (Even though I still love all of them too :-) )
But it seems lately (and by lately I mean within the past week) that a lot of stressors have come into play. Because I hated going to school so much last semester, I let my grades suffer until I decided to switch majors and get my motivation back. However, it wasn't in time for me to pull my grades up, and now I've lost all my financial aid for next semester.
Apparently I have to write an appeal letter to the financial aid office to see if I can reason with them to get my financial aid back. Since my major's been switched, I really would like to be at school now. I want to go. I hope I can just make a really convincing argument so they'll be happy to still give me money that I need so desperately. Alternatives are live at home and go to school here, and not that I don't like my house, I just really want to be away at school. It's a me thing I suppose.
But I didn't find this out until Thursday when my mom took me to the doctor because for the last week I've had abdomenal cramping. At first I thought it was related to TOM - but when TOM left, I still had that icky achey feeling, and sometimes it would be really sharp too. It's so bad sometimes that I can't stand up straight because I just have this really tight feeling in my lower abdomen.
My doctor thinks I have an ovarian cyst, so I have an ultrasound this morning for confirmation of the cyrst and I'm chugging half my weight in water to fill my bladder up. Oh joy. But I have to admit that all of my co-workers are happy that I finally went to the doctor. It amazes me how close we all seem to have become.
But I must say, the thing to do among the Twinlow staff is quote Robin Hood: Men In Tights. If you haven't seen it, watch it. It's full of awesome quotes. Plus it has Carry Elwes and I just plain think he's cute. :)
Well, it's time for me to start getting reading to leave the house for my appointment. I'll be home until Sunday afternoon and then it's back to camp for a week. Hope all of you are having an awesome summer!

Short, Sweet and To The Point
Dear Strawberry Covered Waffle,
We have met more than enough in the past two days for breakfast, and while I love the smooth buttery taste of your crispy golden flesh, I don't know how much more I can take. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to find a new breakfast companion. Don't take it personal, okay? It's not you, I promise. It's me.
Yours Truly,

Dear Sunshine!
I'm so glad you finally decided to show us Idaho-dwellers your beautiful face. We have missed you terribly and are happy beyond all reason that you have finally chosen to grace us with your presence. Yesterday was a nice outside-wear-your-shorts-and-run-around-barefoot kind of day and I want to personally thank you for that.
LOVE,
Someone Who Needs Some Brighter Days In Her Life

Dear Classes,
As the schoolyear is drawing to an end, you all are wrapping up so quickly! But there are some issues I have with you as of late. See, some of you have decided to give me outlandish projects that I'm not at all excited for, and I was wondering if you could take them back? Please reconsider the scale of your projects and talk to each other about how I only need one big project at a time.
Thanks,
One Who Wants To Be Lazy
***
Dear T.O.M.,
Go AWAY!! No one likes you and all you do is ruin a perfectly good week out of every month. You cause pain, annoyance, inconvenience and irritation. Just leave.
Signed,

How Awesome Am I?
Before you answer that question with a completely sarcastic "Oh Cinderella, you are the most awesome person in the world. Just. Totally. Rad." rethink that. And go with something a little softer on my bruised ego right about now? Thanks.
Bruised ego? What the heck, Cind? Get over yourself. You have NO ego!!
OH YES. I. DO.
And right now it hurts. Hurts bad.
Right! I'm dragging this out. Move on, woman! For crying out loud!
Okay, so here's the deal about how INSANELY EPIC I am. In my hurried-packing-frantic-Belle-will-be-here-soon phase on Sunday I forgot three very important items. 1. Mouthwash. At least I remembered toothbrush and toothpaste.... 2. acne wash. well, it's not that bad right now anyway. and I still have my topical. 3. my totally awesome and completley devine venus razor. so i can have those devinely smooth pits and legs.
Well, I realized this morning I forgot the mouthwash and the acne scrub because I knew they were in the same plastic bag. But I momentarily forgot that I put the razor in that bag too instead of in my make-up kit like normal.
So I'm talking to Prince Charming on IM when I have an itch on my calf. No big deal, just casually scratch it with my fingernails that are in desperate need of a trim. Ahh! Hair! *sigh* Gross. I'll just have to shave it tonight. For whatever reason I tell this to Prince-y, who really could care less and accuses me of being random.
Then he proceeds to make fun of me for being 'hairy.' If I'm correct, he used the word sexy somewhere in there in TOTAL and COMPLETE sarcasm. Thanks Hon. And then, I realize that shaving tonight is impossible. My hands fly to my mouth and because Prince Charming likes to view me on the webcam (stalker), he notices that something just is not right.
Prince: What?
Cinderella: shoot me?
P: why?
C: my razor is in hayden!
P: ahahahahahahahahaha. Don't wear shorts.
Thanks AGAIN Prince Charming. You ROCK. Only sometimes not. KIDDING. Because he did make me laugh.
P: use the old fashioned sharpened rock and water approach
C: yeah, I'll get right on that.
So now I'll have to wait a week before I can shave anything. Unless I can con Zelda, Sleeping Beauty or Belle into graciously allowing me to jack their razor for a much needed shave? We'll see. It'll be an adventure! And we all KNOW how much I love those! :-)
Update for those who care: (which is none of you, I'm not fooled. haha) I found out the Underground has razors. So I bought one. And now I'm smooth. :-) Yay!
Bruised ego? What the heck, Cind? Get over yourself. You have NO ego!!
OH YES. I. DO.

Let's Get Girly
Okay, so people who know me know that I am not in the slightest what one would refer to as a 'girly girl.' But I have my moments. Like on my SD trip I ended up buying a sun dress and some red high heals. (ow ow! I'm one hot momma, i know.) Anyway, besides from the random dress buying event, I'm pretty boyish.
I've always been better friends with boys than with girls anyway. In high school my German teacher could've sworn that I had older brothers, but no. Just younger ones. I can't even say little brothers anymore because they are both bigger than me. Ha, ha. I remember though, it started in 5th grade when I would have rather played basketball with the boys than ride the swings with the girls.
But there is really one big deciding factor that makes the world go "yep, this one is indeed a GIRL" and we have nicknamed this factor TOM. TOM is annoying and comes to visit for a whole week at a time. I've never had much trouble with TOM before, but being away in college and a whole lot less active than I used to be, TOM and I are quickly becoming mortal enemies.
Now, I don't really write about this stuff a lot because I know a lot of people don't want to read about it, or hear about it and most of us would like to pretend that TOM doesn't even exsist. However, I was blog-hopping earlier and I stumbled across one of the funniest things I do believe I've ever seen. In my life.
It was a letter to Tampax. Asking for a snickers bar to be included with every purchase. Chocolate is supposed to make you feel better right? (And I had some oreo truffles today at work - seriously? there is no reason for how amazing it tasted.) So this is a great idea.
And being the curious little teen girl that I am, I had to read her comments too. All the comments I read agreed with the idea. (beacuse it's AWESOME!) And there were some comments about how come TOM comes to visit so often even when we're done having kids? Well I loved one lady's answer. Seriously I laughed out loud for probably a good five minutes. (Dad, I'm warning you - if you haven't stopped reading yet, you MAY want to look away.)
In response to the comment about why do we need a uterus when we have decided to be done with procreating, one lady remarked that "yes you need your uterus, it keeps you from growing facial hair ;)"
But this was not the concensus because a debate ensued about some women still getting what were called "trucker mustaches" and I don't know if I should be worried or not. Ha, ha. But anyway I thought the whole idea was just hilarious and felt like sharing. Sorry to my male readers for the girly post. They are few and far between and you'll just have to deal with it. :-)
