Sun Flares

I haven't participated in one of these contests for a while, but I thought I would give it a shot this week with this photo:

The theme is 'sun flare' and I think this picture is both sun-flare-y and hilarious. Sun flares are a cool part of photography because not are they extremely capable of looking fabulous, but they kind of give off a sort of disconnect. Think about it, the picture is us 'observing' what we call 'reality.' But the sun flare also gives off the same vibe as when a character in a movie talks to the camera.

Suddenly you're aware there's a camera there and this stuff isn't really happening right in front of you, but you're viewing it through someone else's lens. Interesting to think about, huh?
